Daughter by Jane Shemilt

Our next book is Jane Shemilt’s DaDaughterughter.  A chilling tale about the abduction of a young girl and the slow realisation of her mother that she may be partly to blame for the unravelling of her family.  What do you think?  Was she wholly to blame?  And should she have seen this coming?  Post your comments here….

“I found a sad little fairy
Beneath the shade of a paper tree.
I know a sad little fairy
Who was blown away by the wind one night”

We rated this book 7/10 – we all enjoyed it and everyone read the whole book!  Some of us were unsure about the ending.  Should it have been more conclusive? Or did it reflect the reality of life’s inconclusive endings?  What do you think?
